Owner wont return money owed

I would not spend a dollar here or deal with Greg in anyway. I have a store credit for a few thousand dollars from an order that there was a mistake.

I ordered a light early last year, that he said he would order. After literally months and months of emails and phone calls and broken promises by Greg, he still has my money, and no new light.

He doesn't respond to emails or answer the phone at the store anymore. He is a crook. I am not asking for my money back, just to use my credit.

If anyone knows what action I can take, maybe through the BBB or somewhere else, please let me know

I would give a ZERO star if I could. Also, I am not a first time customer, I have spent thousands of dollars already with Greg. Stay away.

His staff there knows he's a crook too. There's nothing they can do.

AVOID THIS PATHETIC COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Question: If a website says "Delivery Time: 7-10 business days" and you order a chandelier (which was supposed to be a Christmas present) on November 29, 2019 , your credit card is charged $4,318.00 days later, and you never received your order by Christmas, you never received your order by end of January, you never received your order by end of February...3 months have gone by...all the while listening to LIES about expected delivery, would you be PISSED OFF?" Of course.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE.

This company has repeatedly LIED about my order. I was informed by Greg Shapiro, the President on January 24th that my order was in and that I will receive a tracking number in the days ahead. Well, it's February 25, 2020...3 months after my order...and this company has still not fulfilled the order. No matter...I have cancelled my order.

And beware about that, because buried 3 pages deep is their cancellation policy. Nowhere does it say there will be a "50%" restocking fee (it just says "restocking fee"), but that it what this pathetic company threatened me with.

How horrible of a person and a company can you be threatening customers with loan shark 50% restocking fees? Obviously, this company has ZERO morals, ZERO customer service, ZERO integrity.

In short, DO NOT BE DECIEVED by all the fake 5 star reviews on Google (funny how nearly all of them have only done 1 review ever which is an obvious sign of fake reviews).

This company deserves to go out of business. Do NOT give them yours.

I placed a web order with Bowery Lighting on Feb 22. I received no correspondence on my order. I didn't receive an email that my order had been received. No response with an estimated ship date. Total silence. A week later I decided to check the order. Their web page stated the order was being processed. I called and left a message. I wanted a status on my order. No response. Total silence. A waited a couple of days then I sent a message via their website asking for a status. Again no response. Total silence. I cancelled my order. I can't wait for them to ignore my cancellation. Terrible customer service and support. I will not be shopping here in the future and would advise all to steer clear.

Lied to over and over and over again about delivery times. Horrible ethics and clearly no morals that these people can suck you in with cheap prices, promise 7-10 business days delivery, and take months to fulfill an order.

Preferred solution: I got my order after months of lies. So no resolution needed. Sorry, but this email address is not valid and not the one I used with this horrible company. I'm afraid they will track me down for this review. But people need to know the truth.

BUYER BEWARE I have purchased over $5000 in lighting from Greg Shapiro the president of Bowery Lighting back in 8/29/18. It is now 7/12/19 and he has still not completed this order. Over 50 emails, which I kept on record, in which he lies about completing this order. Greg Shapiro is a liar, a thief and incompetent in his business practices. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review about anyone. Please read other reviewers assessment of Bowery Lighting. It will confirm what I have said. I suggest you look elsewhere to place your order. I wish I did. Shame on you, Greg Shapiro.

It is a SCAM!! It is FRAUD!!

I have ordered my light on May 31st 2018 , I have received order confirmation on the same day. Price 94.50. The website says it was in stock -it is under the cabinet light from Kichler. Their website says the order is "processing" for last 3-4 months. Since then I have no light -and it is now October 17 2018, I have called many times, they have the same message for every number on their menu -I tested it just out of curiosity. Nobody ever called me back. Please shut them down , it is ridiculous. Help other people to avoid these impostors. The website seems quite legit . They even offer buyer protection -is it possible that they just sell you the insurance for whatever money you pay for so called"light".

Just like everyone else, I was told my item was in stock, so I gladly placed an order online. The website seems legit. I called after 6 weeks and was told it was shipping tomorrow. I called two weeks later and was told it was on back order. Seriously, this guy should just give up. I guess their are still people out there ( like me) will will order with out doing a background check first. I did get my money back but it was a complete waste of my time. STAY AWAY! Most of the items can be found on Amazon or other legitimate sites. I finally placed an order on Amazon for the same dollar amount and got them in two days.

Before getting started I'd like to point out the fact that this is the first negative review I have ever wrote - that's how upset I am. On January 16th I placed an order from Bowery Lighting (Farmingdale, NY) for 2 Kitchler wall sconce's (45315BK) from their website. Their website stated that they had several in stock and would contact you if there was any problems. Ha! That couldn't be further from the truth! After 3 days passed I realized I never received any shipping confirmation so I tried calling them. Of course nobody ever answers the phone there so I was forced to leave a message. I never received a call back so I decided to email them. FIVE phone calls and TWO emails later and still no reply. Two weeks after my order was placed I called again and Greg answered the phone. I explained that I was concerned because I never received a shipping notice, nobody has returned my call or email. Greg looked up my order and as he did I explained that their website showed multiple items in stock. He told me that their website wasn't very accurate and he'd have to call the manufacturer to check their inventory but would return my call in 5-10 minutes. Of course Greg never returned my call. I had to call them back and leave another message. Greg finally called me back the next day. He said that they won't be able to get the sconces in as the manufacture discontinued this model over a year ago. Really? Over 2 weeks go by and now you're telling me this now? I asked how long it would take to get my refund and he said he'd process it right away. Of course I never received my refund. So once again I tried calling them but I nobody ever picked up. I decided to email them once again asking for my refund (on a Friday). He replied a few hours later and said I'd have it by Monday. Monday came and went and here I am a week later and still no refund. In my opinion Bowery Lighting is a total sham! Horrible customer service, they don't stock items that they say they do and when they screw up you're going to have to fight to get your money back. I'm just baffled by the way some people conduct business. And they claim to be "The nations largest lighting distributor" - Ha! What ***!

One Broken Promise after Another

Avoid this company like the plague. I ordered a light on Feb 23rd and was quoted 4-6 weeks to deliver. April 26th.....still no light. Every time we called, it's the same story. 2 more weeks. I'll be eligible for Medicare by the time this light arrives. One guy I spoke with offered to give us our money back if he could not get us a ship date in 24 hours. When I emailed the next day and requested a refund, the same guy denied he ever said that. Basically, he called me a liar. They are a classless bunch of yahoos that should be ashamed of themselves. My only fault was being fooled by the low price and free shipping. Guess I got what I paid for.

Review the bulk of the texts here. the statements are true.

this is a joke of a company. They run it out of their garage. They just have catalogs of lighting stuff. You order from them, they take your money, then possibly think about placing an order with the manufacturer.

You can do the same thing yourself. Save yourself, these guys are not worth the trouble or effort you will have to endure to get what you want.

You will wind up paying twice. And have to order from someplace else when all said and done

Like a prior consumer, my experience with Bowery was horrible. I first made an order and waited for a very long time.

Received nothing. I then contacted them and asked to cancel the order and suddenly, the item shipped so I was unable to cancel. Once the item arrived, it was not at all what I ordered. I thought there was a mistake and called to explain the error.

They then told me that "items may vary from the description given" ...huh??

I have been asking for an RMA number for two weeks now...nothing....

This company should be shut down.

I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and will take them to small claims court if necessary. They should not be in business.

DO NOT BUY FROM BOWERY LIGHTING

I ORDERED A LIGHT ON FEBRUARY 15, 2016 ONLINE. I STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED MY PRODUCT ON MARCH 20TH SO I CALLED 4 TIMES WITH OUT ANY RESPONSE!! I THEN STARTED WRITING EMAILS THAT WERE NEVER TO BE ANSWERED. FINALLY I REACHED SOMEONE ON THE PHONE THAT ASSURED ME THAT WE WOULD GET OUR PRODUCT WITHIN A WEEK. THREE MORE WEEKS WENT BY AND STILL NO PRODUCT AND NO COMMUNICATION. THE DATE IS NOW APRIL 6TH AND THERE HAS STILL BEEN NOTHING DELIVERED!! THIS IS THE WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVERY HAD AND SUGGEST YOU DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT ORDERING FROM BOWERY LIGHTING
